The STOOLBOX integrates all these functions – and maybe even more – inside a square cedarwood frame only added sidebars and gap for stability and multiple function. Extreme design simplicity allows precision of the joinery, and the natural beauty of the finest cedarwood makes the design stand out as a functional decoration. Nothing more, nothing less. Washitaka, founded in 2003, is located in the north-west of Kyoto where city meets mountains – a perfect frame for the collaboration between a man and nature’s noble materials.
収納、本棚、サイドテーブル、スツール。これらの家具はほとんどの住まいで目にします。「STOOLBOX」は、これら全ての機能を1つにまとめ、さらに機能的にしたプロダクトです。杉でできた四角形のフレームの中に2枚の板を渡し、物が入る空間を設けただけで安定性と機能性を実現しました。究極にシンプルなデザインは、機能的な装飾として杉本来の繊細な美しさと木工製品のクオリティを引き立たせます。それ以上でもそれ以下でもないデザインです。「ワシタカ工藝」は2003年に京都北山の街と自然が交わる、人と自然がコラボレーションするために理想的な環境の中で立ち上げられました。
